About For the Pug
For the Pug helps pug owners make everyday life better: practical care, humane training, useful games, and clear product guides. Pugs bring plenty of personality. Their people deserve information that goes beyond a cute picture or a short list of links.

A site built around life with pugs
Erik Melton founded For the Pug in 2018. Today the site is operated by Melton Digital Ventures. Its purpose remains simple: help people understand their dogs and find a sensible next step when a question comes up.
Start with Pug Health for everyday care and common concerns, Training & Behavior for step-by-step lessons, or Pug Life for enrichment and living together. The grooming guide covers routines that can make care more comfortable.
What you can expect from our guides
- Useful detail. Training guides should explain what to do, how to reward it, how to make progress, and what to change when a dog struggles.
- Kind methods. We favor reward-based training, manageable steps, and an environment that helps a dog succeed. Fear, pain, and intimidation do not belong in a training plan.
- Clear limits. An article cannot diagnose your dog. Health guides explain when professional help matters and link to sources where appropriate.
- Honest product coverage. A recommendation should explain fit, limitations, and the situation it may suit. We do not describe an item as personally tested unless we have that experience to report.
- Room for corrections. If a link breaks, a claim needs a better source, or a guide leaves out a useful step, we want to hear about it.
