Brachycephalic, or flat-faced breeds, have flat faces and short skulls which are likely to cause breathing problems. This can be exacerbated when your Pug becomes overheated, overexcited, and especially overweight.
Heat stroke is a very real risk for flat faced breeds like the Pug. These symptoms can come on quickly and escalate to the point of being deadly within a very short time. To make sure that your Pug doesn’t suffer from heat stroke, take precautions, like always carrying water, and learn to recognize the symptoms:

Tug of War
classic game, you each take the end of a rope or toy or sock or whatever and pull. Be sure to let the Pug win sometimes.
Hide & Seek
This can be played with a treat filled toy or a person. Finn the Pug loves to play find his human.
Obstacle Course
You can take things around the house and set up a makeshift obstacle course. Use pillows and blankets and other household items to make tunnels to run through and things to jump over. You can have them chasing a treat to get them interested.
Learn a Trick
Learning new tricks can be a fun and rewarding experience for your Pug. Use healthy treats to motivate him and be sure to keep your tone light and happy. With some patience your Pug will be showing off for everyone you meet.

These can keep your Pug occupied for a long time especially if there are treats involved.
Treat Dispenser Toys
Toys that dispense some healthy treats and/or kibble can keep your Pugs mind active and give him a bit of exercise as a bonus.
Treasure Hunt
Show your Pug his favorite treat. Put it into a dispenser toy and let him see you walk out with it. Come back into the room without it and the search is on.
