Are Pugs Expensive?

The price of a Pug can vary a great deal depending on the breeder and the part of the country you live in.  A general rule is somewhere between $250 and $1000.

Pugs make great family pets.  They love their people more than anything in the world! (Food is a close second.)  Pugs are good with children, and their mouths and teeth are shaped in a way that makes biting mostly harmless.

Pugs do not require a great deal of exercise.  That is one of the great perks of having one if you are lazy or unable to walk your dog a lot.  A Pug is usually good with two 15 minute walks a day.  Just be sure not to overfeed them.

How large are Pugs?

Pugs generally weigh around 14-18 pounds and stand 11-14 inches at the shoulder.  However, some Pugs can be much larger, weighing over 25 lbs without being overweight.

 

Do Pugs require special care?

Yes.  A lot.  They have wrinkles that need to be cleaned regularly.  Their ears can require a bit of maintenance.  Their eyes can require a bit of special care as well.  And their nails need constant clipping.  Also, they have difficulty when it is very hot and can become seriously overheated very quickly.
